When we last left Nick HQ back in October 12th, Nick took out 2 animation exes. Now, a new vice president is in charge! Perch, who’s the VP replacement and will it help the network get back in the ratings race?
Perch Perkins (via Toon Zone)- BURBANK – Nov. 6, 2012 – Nickelodeon has named Jill Sanford Vice President of Animation Development, Nickelodeon Group. Sanford will be responsible for all aspects of development from concept to pilot, including all creative and production. The announcement was made by Jenna Boyd, Senior Vice President of Animation Development, Nickelodeon Group, to whom Sanford will report.
“Jill’s creative expertise and proven track record of overseeing animated hits makes her a terrific addition to the Nickelodeon animation team,” said Jenna Boyd, Senior Vice President of Animation Development, Nickelodeon Group. “Her keen eye for identifying unique ideas and talent will be a huge asset as we continue to grow our hit Nick animation brand.”
In her new role, Sanford will research and develop show ideas, will oversee scripts, creative, legal, casting and staffing for pilots. Additionally, she will help oversee the comedy shorts program and partner with our short form development team to find and shepherd the next generation of animated hits.
Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Sanford held several positions during her nine year tenure at The Walt Disney Company, where she most recently served as the Director of Original Series for Disney Television Animation. She was the lead current series executive for Disney Channel’s animation series Phineas and Ferb, Fish Hooks and other projects in development. Prior to moving to Disney Television Animation in 2008, Sanford worked in both development and current series for live-action and animated series for Disney Channel. She also held positions at Fox Sports Net and commercial production company, Hungry Man.
Sanford earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Literature and Culture from the University of California Los Angeles. She was also named to Multichannel News’ list of “40 under 40” in 2011.
Good news Beetle juice fans, the ghost with the most is going to be on DVD as Shout Factory and the Warner’s reach a multi company deal to unleash the Neither world’s greatest hero as well as its live action show MAD TV. Hey Jimmy, do both shows get the full show treatment?
Jimmy Trout (via Toon Zone)- Los Angeles, California – November 5. 2012 – Shout! Factory announced a multi-property alliance to bring the memorable Warner Bros. television series MADtv (seasons two though five) and the animated series BEETLEJUICE to the home entertainment marketplace. The multi-year alliance provides Shout! Factory with exclusive DVD rights to 97 episodes of MADtv (1996-2000) and all 94 episodes of BEETLEJUICE for home entertainment releases in the United States and Canada . The announcement was made today by Shout! Factory founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer , and Garson Foos .
“We are excited about this new opportunity with Warner Bros. MADtv and BEETLEJUICE are two highly entertaining television properties with a large fan following. We look forward to presenting these two series on DVD and sharing them with a new generation of fans,” state the Shout! Factory founders.

This fast-paced and irreverent sketch comedy series is well-known for its outrageous movie and television parodies, cutting political satires, hysterical commercial and music video spoofs, biting social commentary and pop culture send-ups. The television series was A NELVANA Production in Association with THE GEFFEN FILM COMPANY and TIM BURTON INC.
Blast off with Duck Dodgers on DVD! Fresh off a season full of missions based on the continuity of the cartoon, Duck Dodgers fans will relive the hero’s daring missions with his trusted eager young space cadet, as Season 1 of the show finally hits the stores in 2013. Jim Trout has the entire mission profiles and also has the schematics!
Jim Trout via (Toon Zone)- Tvshowsondvd.com reports that Warner will release long awaited series Duck Dodgers on DVD with Duck Dodgers: Season 1 – Dark Side of the Duck on February 19, 2013. Based on the classic Chuck Jones short it chronicles Dodgers (Daffy Duck) and his sidekick The Eager Young Space Cadet (Porky Pig) trying to protect what’s left of the galaxy in the 24 1/2 century from The Martian Queen Tyr’ahnee and her top soldier, the Martian Commander X-2 (Marvin the Martian).
Duck Dodgers was produced by Warner Brothers and aired on Cartoon Network in 2003. The show features the voices of Joe Alaskey (Plucky Duck from Tiny Toon Adventures) as Duck Dodgers, and the Martian Commander, Bob Bergen as The Eager Young Space Cadet, Tia Carrere (Wayne’s World, and Lilo & Stitch) as Queen Tyr’ahnee, Michael Dorn (Lt. Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation) as the Centurions, Richard McGonagle (Abin Sur in Green Lantern: First Flight) as Dr. I.Q. Hi, and John O’Hurley (Seinfeld, To Tell the Truth, and Family Feud) as Captain Star Johnson.
The two-disc set will contain all 13 episodes from season one as well as the classic Looney Tunes short Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2 Century.
Duck Dodgers: Season 1 – Dark Side of the Duck will arrive in 21st century retailers on February 19, 2013.
